Professor of Private International Law and International Arbitration at Cairo University; Founding Partner and Head of International Arbitration, Construction and Energy Groups at Zulficar & Partners Law Firm (Egypt); Treasurer & Member of the ICCA Governing Board; Dean of the Africa Arbitration Academy; Co-Chair, IBA Arab Regional Forum; Vice-Chair of the CRCICA Advisory Committee; Member of the Court, PCA; Member of the Court, LACIAC; Member of the Court, CIMAC; Member of the Board of Trustees of the CIArb; Member of the Governing Board, ICODR; and Chair of the International Expert Committee of the Permanent Forum of China Construction Law – China. He served as ‘Arbitrator’, ‘Legal Expert’ and ‘Counsel’ in more than 235 cases, involving parties from the Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe, the Middle East and the United States, and is recognized as a world-leading arbitrator and arbitration practitioner in international investment and international commercial arbitration, construction law & practice, Energy law and infrastructure disputes, African and Arab Laws, Islamic Shari’a, private international law and online dispute resolution. Mohamed was shortlisted among the top five arbitrators for the GAR award for the best prepared and responsive arbitrator (2021), and is regularly ranked by Who’s Who Legal, Chambers, The Legal 500, Client Choice Awards, etc.

Dr Emilia Onyema is a Professor of International Commercial Law at SOAS, University of London. She is qualified to practice law in Nigeria and as a Solicitor in England & Wales. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an independent arbitrator. She is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Cairo Regional Centre for ICA; and she chairs the Advisory Council of the Libya Centre for ICA. She is also the lead researcher of the SOAS Arbitration in Africa survey reports and she co-authored The African Promise.
